It's official. I'm moving to Oregon.

My supervisor has pushed me too far; the list of her misdeeds goes on for pages. Therefore, I'm packing up and moving to Eugene. I'll pick up my Japanese studies there too.

Mom's already found some possible apartments, and Mikey's going with me so we'll split the cost. ^.^ Bonus checks for Wally World come out the 23rd, so we'll probably give notice the day after. ^_____^ Which means in another month, I should be out of this evil, freezing, backwards state.

*JOY*

I took my extra set of pots and pans over to Miko's yesterday, since I'm about to tear the house apart and I'll never find them again if I don't give them to her now. ^^;;

Wheeee, I'm so excited! ^.^ I have to start packing stuff. ^_______^

Where are you now, if you don't mind me asking?

But you have so many potatoes!

Which is about all I know about Idaho. ^^;

^^;;; Heh. Yeah, that's what everyone thinks. I, however, am in Northern Idaho, which means no potatoes, (we actually get ours from Washington) a lot of lakes and trees, and tourists. And snow. Lots and lots of freaking snow. *twitch*

It is also, bar none, the most backward, redneck, white-trash Republican state in the Union. -.- Which means I'm constantly worrying about Mikey, and Jess & Sarah, and the other 'alternative lifestyle' friends I have who have the misfortune of living here. x.x Sarah had her car vandalized once. *sigh*

Fortunately, I'm taking Mikey with me, and Jess & Sar are planning on moving to western Washington after the con season. *whew*

I fully and completely understand. I live in the South and spent many years in Redneck, Bible Belt country. Not quite as bad as SC or GA, but pretty darn close. I refuse to even consider living in the town I went to HS in because of how closed minded it is.

This would be why when I go to school, I'm moving to either California or Massachusettes. I want out.

Exactly. ^^ Part of my moving is motivated by climate, but the other by idiots. -.- I like Oregon. They're all a bunch of uber-environmentalist liberals who will pay exorbitant amounts of money for 'Art'. >.>; No matter how ugly that art may be. @.@

I liked California too, but I have relatives there. >.> Whom I get along great with, provided there's a cushion of several thousand miles between us. ^_____^

Oh lord, I had that cushion of several thousand miles (I use to live in CA). Then my family moved to NC. If I'm in or around NC, I have to go to my family reunion or face the wrath of my mother.

I swear I was actually told this by a relative. "I'm glad you settled down to a real job instead of that geometry stuff." The real job was as a glorified secretary (aka Administrative Assistant) barely making enough to live on. The "geometry stuff" was my degree in geology.

I am so looking forward to being several states (or even a country) away from these people...

Good luck with the move!

*dies laughing* Okay, your family is officially weirder than mine. ^^; Mikey's still wins, though. >.> They followed him here from CA. x.x;;

Yay! Sounds so exciting! *sigh* I used to move all the time - my dad was in the Air Force - now, just the same place, for years and years.

And Oregon! How strange, that is where I've decided to move. Not that I am moving, but that is where I will go if I do. And, my girlfriend and I were talking about it and said we'd have to bring our friends, a male couple, with us so we have people to play with. A couple weeks later, they said they were going to move to Oregon when their shared-custody-son turns 18(not for a few years), and that we should come. It's like the Oregon Trail or something!

Glad you are bringing Mikey! *notes other comments* Will his family follow him to Oregon next?

Heh. I've lived in this same house for the last twenty years. Getting the right motivation to move out has been hard for me. x.x;;

*laugh* Well, if I'm still there when you wander out that direction, you'll have to let me know! ^.^ It's always fun meeting people and putting a face with the nickname. ^.^

We're hoping they won't follow, but if they do, we're already planning to pack up again and bail to Hawaii. ^.^ Always have a contingency plan in place... ;)
