Sakuracon?

I am trying to decide whether to request the three days off for Sakuracon or not. It's a long drive, and expensive, since I wouldn't be going for the con so much as for the people...

Which brings me to my question. Are any of you planning on attending Sakuracon? (Seattle, WA) Might give me a stronger reason to go if I could actually meet peeps... <3

Also, ugh! Hotels are expensive. x.x And room tax? Wtf is a room tax? Jeeze, living in Oregon has seriously spoiled me on this tax thing...

I would go, but it's very inconveniently on the other side of the country. I think it's pretty inconsiderate of you to live so far away.

I agree with Aggy and Bloodied, you should come to the other side of the country ~_^

Har har. I'm not even on the same continent *cries*. Also, hotels are such a rip-off: a weekend was around 200 € or so at the beginning of Feb in the suburbs of Paris! Just for the nights! ARGH ME BANK ACCOUNT.

What is Sakuracon? *curious*

Personally, I think we should all move to Ohio. *nods* It would make life easier, and it's in the middle of the states? :D

Sakuracon's an anime convention. I've never been. ^^; And I don't really want to go for the con, per se, but I do enjoy taking pictures of cosplayers, and there's going to be a doll meetup, and my friend Jessie lives in that area. But it's a 6+ hour drive, and room rates are insane, so I may back out. :/ Ah well.

And there's no way that Jessie would let you stay with her for the three days?

Although, yeah, 6+ hours of driving is a lot, particularly if roads are bad or if car tends to be not as reliable as it should be. :/

I... feel bad about asking? ^^;

Well, the drive is 95% freeway driving, and my car is in very good condition, so that's not so bad. It's just really boring and I seem to be, er, kind of incapable of crossing Washington without getting pulled over... >.>

Heh. But if I'm driving, I can't exactly write stuff down.

=P I meant the story of you never able to cross the boarder without being annoyed by the ebil police. XD

Oh. x.x Ugh. I have something of a lead foot. Runs in my family. And cops in most states don't particularly care much. But Washington cops literally have nothing better to do than stalk the freeway for out of state speeders. :P Bah.

Stalking!

You're kind of like my friend, she's a really good driver and all but the police don't agree with her that she should be allowed to go 104 mph on the freeway. XD

Ahahaha! Like, three months after I got my license, my family took a trip to South Dakota. Mom let me drive. Her brand new car. Across Montana. Which at that point in time still had no speed limit. >.>

Yeah. I totally broke 110. ^____^

I've never been either. ^^; I've been to Anime Expo 2000, and to Kumoricon '08.
Been to Seattle a number of times, but usually either to raid Uwajimaya or visit the aquarium. ^^;

=P I'd like to go. It's actually kinda close (well, close in the sense that while we're not in the same state, we're damn near bordering it) and I know some friends who've driven up there before for Sakuragon, but I'm probably not going. ._. Already pushing my luck for a live I wanted to see.

Heh. You in Portland, then? ^^ It seriously amuses me how close that city sits to the border. Practically on it!

Nah, not Portland. My sense of 'close' is that we're not halfway across the country/world. xD

Hmm... bordering WA... pretty much is just Oregon and Idaho. Or... I guess 'near bordering' would be Montana, since the Idaho panhandle is fairly narrow... *ponder ponder*

...xD Okay, my sense of close is skewed cause I've been up there when we used to go on road trips when I was little. =P There's like a state between us. xD Oregon.

Ah ha! Okay, making more sense now. ^^; But that would be a heck of a drive. I think it's like a solid 6 hours from here, and it's... what, another two or more to the CA border? @.@

xDD I'm not sure. It's quite a bit of a drive, but my friends are nuts enough to do it, so hey.
