tygatiToday has been a roller coaster ride. Up and down and repeat. x.x
I had the day off. I set two tasks for myself to accomplish. One, clean out the car and vacuum for the Saturday carpool trip to Portland. In the midst of my cleaning I filled the wiper fluid because it had been out ever since I got my oil changed at wally world.
... notice steady drip-drip coming from underneath wiper fluid reservoir. Whimper. Finished cleaning the car then took it to Wal-Mart to see what they'd say. Seems a bit of a coincidence that it would suddenly decide to spring a leak right after they worked on it, but whatever. They do make an attempt to find and fix the problem, but it's kind of hidden up behind a shield thingie (which they showed me) so I must reluctantly conclude that I can't blame them for the problem. Mergh. x.x Did get them to direct me to a mechanic.
Got a quote from the mechanic. Gonna cost $95 to fix the bloody thing. Apparently Nissan has a sense of humor when it comes to constructing one of those things. They put the seal on the bottom while everyone else puts it on the top. Headdesk.
Returned home, decided to conquer my other self-appointed task, which was to make ears for Tian.
They're not particularly wonderful, but I think they didn't turn out all that bad.
Behold, dragon-eared dollie!
They're just painted sculpey, and not quite the right color, but for a first attempt they're reasonable. The hardest part was not squishing them when I was trying to make the pieces that slide into the holes on his head. x.x
I'm debating blushing them a pale blue... might look cute for the meet on Saturday.
Mikey made his little robe. ^__^ Though the belt it just a piece of ribbon I had.
Oh, apologies for the camera blur. The flash kept washing him out, and my hands weren't all that steady with the flash off. x.x;;
Then, after I managed to finally get his ears in the oven, I thought I'd cut out some dragon wings so he could be a dragon at the Zoo. Only, I suck, and can't even manage to cut straight. Gave up in frustration and called it a day. Two successes, two failures. I'm even.
Didn't feel like making separate post for doll stuff, so sorry for those of you who aren't interested in such things.
Watched the Barbie: Diamond Castle movie today. Yet more lesbians. And the singing wasn't all that bad, except for when the third chick tried to make it a threesome, and when the egotistic boy-twins tried to sing. x.x That was painful.
