So, it's pretty common knowledge that A Fairy Tale was inspired by one too many watchings of the Barbie Fairytopia movies, and that Darkness totally has its roots in the video game series Castlevania, but Did You Know...

Beldon and Ahi'kiha have the same concept to their eyes. The blue is 'natural' and the gold is a result of heavy magic. Ahi'kiha's are permanently stained, whereas Beldon's turn gold whenever he's using magic.

Patricia C. Wrede has influenced both Beauty and the Beast and Yes, Master. Pick up Dealing With Dragons or any of the Enchanted Forest chronicles and see for yourself.

Several friends have characters 'modeled' after them. [livejournal.com profile] mechante_fille shows up in the Darkness saga, and [livejournal.com profile] maderr's actually in two stories. I also stole Byron from Yes, Master's name from one of my managers. It was a pretty name.

Gremlins are green because I am easily influenced by childhood comic books.

The first explicit smut I ever wrote was Lucien and Ciaran from Darkness, and has never been publically posted. It will, however, be included in the Darkness book whenever it is published.

The basic concept behind Never Say Thank You came from a random comment [livejournal.com profile] codenamepancake made about sneaking into someone's kitchen to use their oven and leaving behind brownies in exchange.

Tau Ceti built Zanson's ship, the Wishing Star, and is responsible for its unique blending of modern and Daneubian technology.

Tau Ceti is deathly afraid of illness, as is the Gremlin race as a whole. This is a result of the Gremlin Space Plagues that nearly wiped out the entire race 200 years ago.

The Green Planet has influences from both Sailor Moon and a short manga chapter I read once called Blue Heart or something like that.

Naefindan is much, much older than he appears. Lanthus is the only one who realises it, because Lanthus has been with him the longest. Nae has never told him, or anyone, exactly how old he is, although there are some indications that either he or a family member was involved in the Spires of Arienn tragedy.

The evil djinn in Arabian Days, Sakhar al-Jinni, is a real mythological figure lifted from (I think) the actual 1001 Arabian Nights book.

All faeries in A Fairy Tale are named after flowers and plants, except for Rain.

Karai's and Oliae's names and some aspects of their characters were adapted from those of certain boss characters in the PS1 game Symphony of the Night.

8D I caught the Patricia C. Wrede ones, as well as the fairy names in A Fairy Tale. And I thought I recognized the evil djinn! I was a huge Arabian Nights fan ^^;

Ooo, and I remember that bit about Gremlins. Trivia is fun!
