Am I missing something?

I haven't tried to make or edit a long post in a while, so I haven't noticed, but in the last few days I've attempted to modify some older (long) entries and every single attempt has timed out. Hunting through LJ's FAQ I find the claim that my computer/router's MTU setting is too high for 'the network' and to go search google to figure out specifics.
Okay, I can do that. I search, I find, I read, I tweak. Gee, no change. Unsurprising, since it's worked perfectly well in the past (obviously, or I wouldn't be able to post stories) and has only started misbehaving somewhat recently.

So... now what? o.o Geek asking for geek help, please. :(

Well, I figured out what my problem was - stupid bloody firewall. x.x But I dont' think that helps you.

There is nothing for it but to write a story that is not bonus and then post it. That will establish if long posts can be created, and from there you can work towards finding out what's up with the old posts.
