*sulk* LibraryThing's free account maxes out at 200 books. Damn it, I have more books than that! *grumble*

I got a lot of them up though. Heh. Didn't get any of the hardbacks in the closet listed... or some of the fancy/rare stuff... Narnia and Black Cauldron series aren't on there either... >.> or the 'kid' books like Mary Poppins, Doctor Doolittle, NeverEnding Story, Misty of C-however-you-spell-that... Bah.

Yesterday I went bowling, work-sponsored. That was fun. I hadn't bowled in years, but I had a good time. Wish I'd had Mom's bowling gear, though. I think I'd gotten used to having it in Idaho, cause I sure missed that wrist brace and her 7lb ball... >.> Still, tipsy co-workers are highly entertaining. ^__^

Mmm, looking at all those books made me want to read them again. >.> Maybe something I haven't read in a long time. Hmm...

*laugh* Oh, it just occured to me, as I'm bitching about the 200 book limit, that back when I was taking Japanese classes we had to give a little 'about us' speech (in Japanese) and then there was a Q&A session. Well, in my speech I mentioned collecting manga, so my sensei asked me how many I had. She looked so totally flabbergasted when I pondered and ventured "... hyaku, ni-hyaku..." (100-200) >.> So, then I went home and actually counted... and, yeah, the total was well over 300. ^^; Heh. Oops? (I'd so not want to count nowadays...)

Mmm, inspiration, come back! I want to write! *sulk*

Oh, yay! I love LibraryThing! I met the guy who invented it. Owns it, runs it? Yeah, whatever you call it. ^_^ He is SO excited by the whole thing.

My mom has a barcode wand that I want to borrow at some point to catalog my books. I think I'm missing some... it would be good to get them all listed somewhere.

*snugs* Have a good day tomorrow, sweets!

Heh. It's amusing, but I'm not really sure about the practical uses for it... I mean, what's the point? 9.9 (Ie, what would make a person pay the full-usage fee? What do they get out of it?)

I am discovering that an annoyingly large number of my books do not have barcodes. Or ISBNs. x.x Very vexing. I have, however, discovered that it is much faster for me to hand-key in all the ISBNs rather than try to do an author-title search and wade through a zillion different printings of the stupid things. x.x;;

I'm not sure where this site (http://reader2.com/) maxes out, but thought you might be interested...

You could always have a secondary account?

OMG--I have read about 95 percent of those books you've got up! Might I suggest, if you haven't discovered already, the works of Tanya Huff (all of them, and her Blood series is being made into a TV series!), Terry Pratchett, Gerald Morris (YA, Authurian tales with heroines), Sharon Shinn (singing angels), Anne Bishop (v. sensual and dark), David Eddings (complicated fantasy! Prophecies!), and/or Christopher Stasheff (The Wizard series about futuristic time agents in a magical, medieval world). Are any of these new names? I have most their books at home and they're mostly falling apart from being read so often. XD Library book sales are my friend.

Question about McCaffrey and Nye's Ship Errant? What's it about? I've seen all the other Ship books, but not this one and amazon offers no help.

Do you have scanlations? If I added my scans to my manga collection, I'd have almost 1k.

Sharon Shinn I own (Though only Archangel and Angel-Seeker were really any good, IMHO) while Pratchett and Eddings I believe I've read... Eddings I know I've read a few and they just didn't pull me in. Ahwell. Most of the rest of the names are new... >.> Blah. Now I'm going to sulk about the f*cking library fiasco all over again. ;_;

Ship Errant is NOT a McCaffrey book, Nye wrote it solo. This (http://www.amazon.com/Ship-Errant-Jody-Lynn-Nye/dp/0671877542/ref=sr_1_1/103-6343873-7483804?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1203197466&sr=1-1) is I believe the version I have... Hardcover. I don't seem to find a softcover on Amazon... and mine is Hardcover so maybe they didn't make a paperback? o.o?

I have some scanlations, yes... I don't really count those. They're not 'books'. Heck, I don't even count ebooks as books, generally. ^^;

I agree about Shin's books. Angel Seeker was my favorite. I liked Eddings, but they were so very long and prophetic! XD As for the new names, I hope you'll like them, if you do happen to read one.

Oops... the big ANNE MCCAFFREY emblazoned over the title had me fooled.

Of course, the read deal is always better, yes/no?

The only thing I liked about Eddings' books was the 'learning to fly / does bouncing count' conversation at the end of one of them. ^^;

*snort* Sometimes the way they advertise books really irks me... *headshake*

Oh yes. I like being able to haul stuff around with me. ^^;

*gasp* But but but! Books are life! *flail*

Though, really, I sold or donated probably 2/3 of my collection before moving... ^^; Hauling books across three states is a pain in the butt.

WOW!! I have never heard about LibraryThing's and I promptly went and signed up. I am curious to see how many things I have read. I too am an avid reader, as it seems you are as well. I started at a young age, since my mother also loves to read. I had a rather active imagination as a child and reading was a way to go to a magical and beautiful world, and to keep me busy, which my parents were happy about!! (o';'o).

Thank you for bringing it to our attention, but you say that there are not books such as Narnia and the Black Cauldron series, that upsets me. I wonder if there are other books I have read not listed? Oh well, I will add my books and see what happens. So once again, thank you!! *hands you cookies*

I'm working on adding the rest of my books to a second account. Narnia, at least, is already listed (http://www.librarything.com/catalog/tygati-two) if you're curious.

(Mmm, cookies...)

Sorry, just randomly have to put in, I own the Acorna books took ^_^ I adore them. Though I must say I do not own nearly as many books as you too... *looks at pitiful collection with a sigh*

*sheepish* While I own them, I've barely read a fraction of the Acorna books. Maybe just the first two? Really ought to actually READ the rest of them some day...
