Artwork, Thoughts, and Rambling

This morning I woke up to find that my car was frozen shut. I had to beat on the doors for about five minutes before I could get one of them to open. x.x Guess 2007 felt like going out with a bang or something. :P

This year I turned 26, got a job I actually enjoy, and started seriously thinking about going back to college. I live in the middle of a major university town, after all. x.x It's really hard to miss when at any given time you'll see a car going down the street with "Go Ducks!" banners all over it. *headshake*

This year my brother's second child was born. Mind you, my brother is nearly 4 years younger than me. It makes me feel... distant, sometimes. To not want any of that stuff. Blah. No more thinking about that. It's stupid anyway, and will probably make my headache worse. x.x

Sometimes I wonder what I want to do with my life, what direction I should go. But you know, as long as I'm happy, who cares? I'm not really the planning type. I take each day as it comes, and enjoy it to the best of my abilities. I try very hard to always look to the positive in things, even when there really isn't much of a positive to see. Sometimes this makes me very naive, but... there's really too much negative in the world already. Why should I make it worse if I can help it?

... enough thinking. I think it's time to give up and take asprin or something. x.x Mergh.

Oh, some artwork.


Ziern, the Indigo Knight, from The Green Planet.
He had maybe five lines in the original story, but nikerymis adopted him and wrote such lovely things with him that he's become rather a major player. ^^; Heh.
Here he is modeling the Rainbow Knight uniform-armor because I wanted to make a clay chibi for Nikery but I was having major issues figuring out what they wore and she bribed me with smut if I could get my act together. As you can see, the promised bribe worked rather well. ^^;;
The uniform is predominantly sort of a silvery-white, and the armor all has a lustre to it... like moonstone? Something like that... and the trim is done in their Knight color. In Ziern's case, Indigo. This is mostly formal occasion stuff, big events, presentations, and sometimes Selan-guard-duty where they need to look spiffy. There's, uh, less formal wear for sparring and knight-duties outside the palace, but really they wind up wearing this one more often than not. 9.9
Any weapons he carries are not pictured, cause I was concentrating on the armor, not the sharp pointies. ^.~ Though Ziern, being who and what he is, probably doesn't fight all that often. It's hardly fair to whoever he's fighting if he knows what they're going to do before they do it... ^^;;; Hmm... I wonder if he... turns it off... or it's negated somehow when he's practice-sparring... 9.9

And for something totally different...


The major cast of Darkness: Karai, Oliae, Lucien, and Ciaran. Heights are approximately correct... though I'm wondering now if Karai was supposed to be taller and I ran out of paper? Hmm...
Oliae's clothing will be going through a revision, and I'm not sure I like Karai's feet. >.> But, uh, otherwise, um... yeah.

Drew this at work a few months back in the cute little sketchbook tsaiko gave me. ^^ Which would explain why Karai's wings are clipped. I ran into the spiral-holes. *sheepish*

I... think that's everything. 9.9 M's trying to bribe me into coloring Ziern. >.> We shall see. x.x That's a lot of... shiny stuff... that will undoubtedly aggravate me to no end. >.>

Now I shall go ponder chocolate, chibis, clay, and whether or not I'm going to celebrate the New Year by east coast time cause I doubt I can manage to stay up till midnight my time. >.>;

Oh, and just don't ask how I expect to chibi-fy Ziern's uniform. x.x Obviously I was not thinking straight. *headdesk*

My car did that after work. Though luckily it was only like, a minute and I just had to tug a few times with all my weight behind it. Almost fell on my ass (like I did this morning brushing the half-foot of snow off my car, arg).

And um, totally going with "do what you want to do if it makes you happy." I like my people to be happy. (You are of my people.) ♥

Pretty!!! ZOMG Ziern is pretty. *_______* I love his swishy hair. And his armor is to die for. <33 And I adore the Darkness gang. I knew that Ciaran was the shortest, but I didn't realize that Karai was the tallest. ^_^ I love Lucien's hair and Oliae's necktie too. :3

You didn't? Huh. 9.9 Karai's over seven feet tall. ^^; Which I think is only addressed in the very first Darkness story when he's attacking Lucien... >.>;

^^; See, I'm always convinced that everyone on the internet lives on the east coast or in some other country. There's never anyone I know that lives close to me, so finding one is always a big deal. ^^;;; I remember once I got to meet Yai-Tzu Hin, and that was sheer awesomeness. *___*

Hee. ^^ Yeah. Big cities = east coast. Or California. 9.9 Seattle and Portland, they don't count, cause if they're not important enough for big bands to tour, they obviously aren't important. >.>;;

We used to travel a lot when I was younger but Oregon has always been home-base due to the fact that my grandmother was here. The rain's not so bad...you get kind of used to it after a while. Plus, it makes the summer's more bearable. =-)

Second child???

I'm on my first still, and she's a handful!
(i.e. it's 6:16 a.m. and I've been up for two hours, because we converted her crib into a toddler bed, with tons of blankets on the floor in case she fell/crawled out, and I woke up at 4 to find her asleep {and coughing}, mostly under the bed, and only partly on the floor-blanket-pile at the edge of the bed... the mommy-ninja skills rule, because she only woke up long enough for a diaper change and cuddle, and then got tucked right back in bed)

Thankfully, of all my fabric, a good portion of it is really nice teddy-bear material, so now she's got a fake bearskin rug to fall out of bed on.

And another one under her bed because she did it again last night/this morning.

Except this morning, she was (once again) underneath the bed after I'd tucked her back in at midnight.

I know you aren't a baby person, but you have to visit sometime.
I have a friend who hates children - you'd think she was a troll in a past life, and still occasionally sees them as food - and Kyleen still grows on her. :)

If you send me your cellphone # (and if it's got picture-phone capacity), I can send you photos - she's like a real little person now.

Down to shaking her head vigorously when she really doesn't want to do something. Too cute! (She doesn't quite have the just-horizontal motion just yet, so it's mostly horizontal, with some vertical head motion thrown in for good measure, so it looks like she's lightly headbanging while saying no)
