nice to find out that i've been pronouncing most of these right! the ones i usually didn't quite have were the ones with the apostrophes [are they called something different when you use them in a name?] but othewise, yay!

Hee, I only had a few stresses wrong! Except Teynaise, that apparently has more syllables that I thought XD
Plus, of course, my Dutch mind tries to pronounce X's like, well, x's XD. You know, KSA-lin and KSOL.

^^ Typing that was fun.

Because I tend to think in Japanese syllables, so when I make up names, that's how they 'sound' to me. :)

O___O You know what? I think I'm starting to mix you too up. e_____e

His name is like... the ultimate hardest-to-pronounce name. But seriously. Tay-nase. Instead of the thingo you wrote. Tai-nen-ae-ze? >.>

*snicker* People seem to mix us up a lot. I can't figure out why. She's way better than me. ^^;

Raz's name, btw, is Russian. So if you want to figure out how it's said... ;)

>.> Not changing Teynaise's pronunciation. Nope. You're gonna have to live with my Japanese-sylable-oriented brain. :)

>.> You can't say that. You both got 'THE CHIBI'. She just happens to write longer stuff than you do. Or more stuff. I never actually sat down and counted yet.

>< I don't mind Japanese-orientated. But seriously. Why can't it just LOOK Japanese-orientated. It would be very very helpful. And less mind-boggling.

She told me that too. And the fact that she couldn't pronounce it herself? Cracks me up whenever I re-read Lost Gods.

More and longer, and way more well thought out and plot-intensive. *shrug* I don't mind. I know where my writing has weaknesses. But she doesn't mind those weaknesses, so it doesn't matter. ^^

It... does look it. o.o; Well, to me anyway. >.>

*snicker* The only one who can pronounce Raz's name is [livejournal.com profile] rykaine. ^__^

^^ That's just because she likes big epics and you write more fluff. But then again, I'm an insane fluff lover. I don't mind your weaknesses. I don't think anyone does. ^^

>.> Really? I looks really American. Or British. Whatever.

XD Really? Then again, there has to be SOMEONE who can pronounce it.

She... doesn't do the big epics on purpose. >.>; They just sorta happen that way. ^^; It's funny. She's forever ranting about stories not staying properly short.

Heh. I think I originally stole it from Gaelic, but nobody can pronounce that, so.. ^.~

*laugh* Rykaine studied Russian and is pretty fluent. She's the one who helps M with all the Russian names that crop up in stories. ^__^

I think it's because her plots are insanely hard to keep short. >.> I mean, lost gods in different areas of the world? It's not going to be short for sure.

Gaelic? O.O

^^ Russian, eh? I study French and Japanese. Anything else just... bewilders me.

^^; Heh. Yeah. *headshake* And here she thinks her plots aren't intricate... Silly girl.

>.>; Yeah, Gaelic. ^^; All the dragons' names were originally Gaelic words.

I studied French in high school. Can't remember a bit of it, though it crops up in my spelling a lot. x.x *sigh* Always wanted to study Russian because my grandfather was from the Ukraine, but never got around to it. 9.9

^^ Tell me about it. Mac (my gay best friend) is trying to write. And is ended up starting a big damned epic about gods fighting each other around in the modern world. I've been screaming at him about STICKING TO MEDIEVAL TIMES so that it would be short, but NOOO.

>.> Sorry.

Really? I just thought that they were names with added letters. Like... Deyllgo or Ruadh... Hmm... actually....

^^ I've studied French for a couple of years. I got sick of it and just dropped it this year. Now it's Japanese. Ooooh Ukraine? THAT's so COOL.

Mmm. If he does that, chances are he'll never finish it. I used to do that, and the stories never went anywhere. It wasn't until I started keeping them short and simple that I could actually finish them.

Heh. No. I think with the exception of Aeyn and Teynaise, all the dragons' names are simply whatever color they are, translated into Gaelic. ^^; Heh. So Deyllgo = black and Ruadh = red and so forth. :)

Japanese is fun. Much easier to pronounce. ^__^ No silent letters. ^^;

Oh? O.O That's... simple? But then again, Noire and Rouge are SO overused.

Yup yup. English is one hard language. Lucky me, it's my second.

And, yay, we've been pronouncing our names right! My French relative call me MEE-shel, but... they say a lot of things funny.^_^

You should bother Maderr into doing this; I was thinking when I was reading A Shared Obsession that it also goes for species, and is Daneub pronounced like 'new-eb' or 'ney-yub'? As for did you miss any, just see if it matches your character-story guide. If you find any missing, then you'll just know something went wrong. ^^;

Ha. M would hurt me if I suggested it. ^^; She has too many chars.

Oooh, species. Forgot about that. Heh. ^^; Daneub is pronounced like the waltz, 'blue danube'. ^^; DAN-yoob. ;)

Now I have to go back through and dig out species and place names. Gah. x.x

Thank you! A few surprises there! I suppose it is you using Japanese while I'm thinking European! Teynaise is going to have to stay wrong in my head! Mostly it was those with an 'e' on the end cos that is silent to me (more or less); and the 'ei' ones which I always read as the German sound I/eye. Now I have to stop thinking of Meiki as Mikey...

I pronounce a lot of things strangely due to my High School French classes (Watch me add a u to words that aren't supposed to have one...) and my Japanese studies. ^^; Heh.

>.>; Meiki as Mikey is rather disturbing. His was the most obvious Japanese-influenced name. ^^; And Mikey is just.. no. >.>; Mikey is my roommate, not a hyperactive orange Draconis with a taste for orgys. x.x
