On the one hand it doesn't surprise me, because Creeps gather no matter where one goes, but on the other hand it does, because if a person is inclined to something icky like that, wouldn't the logical thing to do be not to advertise it? >.o Guh.
I guess that is the 'new and concerning' trend that they are seeing. Well, according to 'ripped from the headlines' dramas and endless commercials for newsmagazine shows.
And, it's internet. It's easy to give up your darkest secrets here.
Considering the fact that they troll myspace all the time, I'm not entirely surprised to see them popping up in other places.
You'd think too, that if you were smart enough to realize that they were advertising it, instead of shutting them down and tipping them off to the fact that they're stupid, you'd contact someone who could, I don't know, actually do something about them, like law enforcement. -_-
The whole thing just makes me mad. If you're going to stalk lj for the bad guys, at least make sure you're, I don't know really stalking the bad guys. The fact that they're suspending rpg journals and fandom journals and fangirl journals is just insane.
No shit. I saw they axed a few genuinely illegal LJ's...but funny LJ didn't give a fuck until it got yelled at, and in all of this does that damn group actually care about getting the criminals? Cause if they did, they wouldn't be acting this way, which just undermines the whole damn system of those who do give a fuck, and the only ones winning are the fucking criminals.
It really does. I've been following most of this here (http://liz-marcs.livejournal.com/266024.html) and WFI's responses to her, and what she points out back to them...
People are stupid. WFI pretty much leading the charging pack of stupidness. And LJ's pissing me off a bit for catering to the stupid. (I mean, I doubt I'd leave journal unless they suspended me, but still...-_- They have to realize that when they start these sorts of things, mass hysteria will then ensue next. Get the genuine bad guys, then leave the rest of us the fuck alone, you know?)
