Job, Moving, and Seattle
Found out who got the promotion I wanted. He 1) has a dick, 2) is a brown-noser, and 3) is a Yes-man. None of which apply to me. :P
All I have ever wanted out of a job was to be happy and not dread going to work. I want to work for a company I can be proud of, who inspires me to put forth extra effort. Terry (co-worker) thinks I need to find a small Mom n' Pop business who will appreciate my drive to try to make things better.
With the situation at work and the way my allergies are trying to asphyxiate me this year, I'm giving serious thought to drifting back to Idaho and giving up on Oregon. The property taxes are way lower, the houses are better priced, and there aren't any lunatic hippies. I was convinced I was firmly a Liberal until I moved here and learned what a real Liberal is. x_x
The problem is that I have friends here, and I don't make friends easily. Mikey is willing to consider a move, considering he's been similarly cockblocked in his efforts at promotion as well, but... The first couple years of living here were pretty lonely. I don't know if I can do that again.
Bleah. x_x
On an entirely unrelated note,
maderr and
fyredancer are going to attend Gay Romance Northwest Meet-up in Seattle, September 14. I'm trying to decide if I should go, since I'm not really an official author of anything, and it's a pretty long drive, but I'd really, really like to finally get to meet Maderr...
Is anyone else planning on going?
Lastly, on the nail polish front, we have my experiments with trying out
fyredancer's nifty stair-step look.

First attempt. Not bad, but kind of boring. OPI DS Magic over Butter London Disco Biscuit.

Dez came over. I got creative with layers. :) Sally Girl 812048, Butter London The Black Knight, Zoya ZP607 Laney, and OPI DS Magic. Kind of an ocean waves look.

This is what I've been wearing all week without a single chip. Layla Softouch 04, Zoya Ginessa, and Layla Ceramic Effect 62, with a bit of Nina Opal Elegance for some additional sparkle. If you replaced the pink with red this would probably make a cool 4th of July look. :)
Trying to decide what I want to do next. Pondering orange and pink a la Barbie but I don't think I would be able to tolerate it for more than a couple of days. ^^; Ponder ponder.
