Bring on Summer! I am so beyond ready.

I needed some COLOR in my life, so I did a five-color ombre rainbow. <3 China Glaze, because they seem to be more fond of neon colors than my usual favorite brands. I've been getting mad props on them at work, from customers and co-workers alike. ^.^

Monday, as I mentioned in my last post, Dez and crew tackled the jungle masquerading as a lawn. I should get a comparison picture with my neighbor's lawn because wow is that ever mind-boggling now that Dez's mom has tamed the greenery.

Wednesday, after work, I started poking at the garage to see what it would take to get it into shape. I ended up assembling this five-shelf 2500lb steel rack that I'd bought months ago and clearing up the back corner of all the doll boxes. >.> There are a lot. ^^;; I still have another rack to assemble, but I needed to get enough room to work in, so I've been buying stuff to aid in that endeavor. I got a hook rack to hang up the rake, broom, and shovel, and a set of heavy duty hooks to hang up the two weedwhackers. Today I got a hose hanger, but I forgot to get the screws so that has to be delayed.

Yesterday I raked up the dead grass on the front lawn and sprayed it with weed killer, because as it stands our lawn is about 50-50 weeds-to-grass. x_x So, yeah. The back lawn is still mostly fine, because I've hit it up several times, but the front lawn is shared with the neighbor and I keep wishfully thinking that she'll actually do her part to keep it up. Which she won't.

I also re-caulked the bathtub, because Mikey's out of town so that gave me enough time to do it and let it dry. That was rather miserable. And also resulted in the ugliest caulking job ever. But on the up side, it shouldn't leak again! ... ever. ^^;

And I still had time before my training class, so I re-potted my suicidal Jade plant that kept falling over (sucker's in a ceramic pot now, no way that thing's tipping) and gave its pot to the mother-in-law's-tongue which was getting rootbound. Then I potted a bunch of tulip bulbs that I'd bought last fall and forgotten about, only to discover that they decided to sprout... in the packaging! @_@ Crazy plants.

And finally, to go with my cute patio table and chairs, I got a patio umbrella! <3

It matches the green cushions I got for the ancient redwood lawn chairs Mom gave me. A few more things and I should be just about ready for Summer. ^___^

Oh, and that used-to-be-red-but-faded-to-pink pot? That's the sumac I thought I killed but that thing is still bravely hanging in there! Go Fight Win! You can do it little sumac! Liiiiiiive!
