My parents leave tomorrow and I'm not going to have any family within [extremely large distance] (not even the cousin in Montana since she's back in Australia, although I think I have another cousin in Chicago) so I sympathise.

I commented on Twitter that it was the first year in my life that I don't have any plans for Christmas Day, and got a response saying "lucky :)". Not in my opinion!
