:D I only know one myself, since I just started learning this month.
PTH is the chinese way of saying Mandarin. ^__^ Sorry, am way too used to calling it PTH. Hong Kong is very very close to Canton province, and most of the people use Cantonese (is the biggest dialect, and older than PTH). In the mainland PTH is used most, but here in the HK Special Administrative Region (HKSAR for short), Cantonese is used the most, although many people know at least a little English.

I was very impressed with Tolkien myself- for me, his style of writing is actually very appealing. He's still my favourite author of all time bar none. Ah well, to each their own. :)
