Lunch art

Lunch art. Had to cut it short when I realized what I was doodling (and how it might look to lunchroom observers) but the gist is there.

Spoilers for The Azure.

Mostly arose out of wondering if gills on mermen were sensitive... -__-; and now I realize I forgot the smaller gills on his neck... Blah.

This one I'm blaming on [livejournal.com profile] mechante_fille, btw. >.> She knows why. ^.~

Mmmm! Smexy underwater fun! *purrs*

I love Nae's ears, too. Very nibble-worthy. Any chance we'll get a coloured version of this one at some point?

Uh. >.> Not unless I completely redraw it. ^^; It was just a quick sketch in my small sketchbook, so I ran out of room. *shrug* I also wasn't trying very hard.

Very beautiful!! I love the movement of the lines which makes it me believe it is under the water. Very nice job!!

I haven't had the chance to read The Azure yet, but I think I will have to remedy that soon!! So, I thank you for sharing this with us!!

*sweatdrop* Why is it when I put spoiler warnings people look anyway? ^^; Ahwell. Hope you like it anyway, whenever you decide to read it. <3

Why is it when I put spoiler warnings people look anyway?
~ Well, I know for me, it really never matters if I get spoilers about something. Most of the time if I like the thing I am looking at or hear about, whether it is a spoiler for a movie, book or fan fiction, I will see or read it anyway. In-fact I always make my niece or friends tell me about movies (which may also include the ending) that they have seen that I want to see.

Spoilers have never been known to stop me, so that is why I looked, but for some if they look then they won't continue on to experience whatever they got a sneak-peak at.

I think also since I had read some of your other stories and saw your artwork before, I wanted to see what you had drawn, but it really won't stop me from reading the story. So no worries. (o';'o)

[identity profile] tygati.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. I think the main reason I tend to get frustrated with it is because a few of my stories are set up as deliberate mysteries, and a lot of my drabbles and artwork totally spoil the mysteries, so there's really not much plot left once that's gone. The Azure isn't so bad, because I drop enough hints that it's not hard to guess, but it drives me batty when people do it with Prince/Wizard/Dragon because I was really proud of how that one worked...

I can certainly understand how you feel and I am glad that I know that now. So, from now on, I will make a point not to look, so that I won't know the surprise.

It will be hard to do, (o';'o) but since I like what you do so much, I can be patient until I finally get to all of your stories!! ^__^

[identity profile] tygati.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
*laugh* The Azure really isn't that long. Hell, it all fits into a single LJ post, which means under 11,000 words. Most of my early stuff is pretty short. *sheepish* I am a far better short story writer than long story writer. ^^;;;

READ EEEETTTTT!!!!!!

[identity profile] dyoklako.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)
ITSH SHOOOOOO PWEEEEEETTTYYYYYY!!!!! XDDDDD

Seriously, it is a really nice work and you should try to find the time to gather all the chapters and read it at your leisure. ^_~

Ribs? *blink* ... *laugh* Those are gills. ^^;

[identity profile] niravive.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, pretty.. I do love the Azure, I do, I do.

And now, so totally off topic, but I have masochistic urges to draw Karai. Would you be so kind as to tell me what his hair looks like? The rest of him I think I've got down, description wise (it's just trying to get it on paper that's being tricky). If you do, I'd be very appreciative.

[identity profile] tygati.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
*ponder* Karai's hair... hmm, long, straight-ish, black, probably about waist length... no bangs/fringe... small feathers here and there, particularly near his temples. *nod* He seldom ties it back, so it's nearly always loose. ^^; That help?

[identity profile] niravive.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You are marvelous. *nods emphatically* I think I have a working design going, and I just need to add in the feathers that I blocked in, so hopefully within the next few days I can show you my humble attempt at Karai.

it's still a WIP, but I thought you might want to see how the "eh" picture of Karai's coming along. I totally killed his smirk. -__-;;

[identity profile] tygati.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, yes, exactly. *__* You even managed to get his feet to look not-stupid, which is something I always struggle with. *___* Purr.

[identity profile] niravive.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
okay, on to colouring it, then, since it seems to have gotten a stamp of approval. ^___^

[identity profile] tygati.livejournal.com 2008-02-09 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay color! ... well, one color. >.>; Uh, good luck with all the black? ^^;

[identity profile] niravive.livejournal.com 2008-02-10 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
*stabs picture* it will be a bit. but after stabbage I feel better. I just can't get a picture (no scanner) of it that shows his face clearly enough while showing the rest of the picture and his shirt came out like, well, just take the r out of that word. it is definitely in progress.

though I did manage to get his skin dark enough. progress, I guess.

good job!

[identity profile] dyoklako.livejournal.com 2008-02-08 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
the feeling whenever i look at it is like that they are really "floating" underwater. this is a very good sketch even if there is this look of it being unfinished. well done.

looking forward to see more "doodles" from you. ^_~
