Jul. 13th, 2008 09:09 pmI finally figured it out.
Ever since I started working at Jerry's I've seen any number of interracial couples - always with a black man and a white woman. I was utterly baffled as to where all the black women were... until yesterday. *nod*
I met the most adorably cheerful black woman while helping her with a lighting issue, and in the midst of the conversation she quite casually referred to her partner, made multiple references to 'she', and how it would be the shortest long-term marriage in history if she spent $80 on light bulbs to fix a problem. ^^;
Later, while walking through another section of the store, I saw her equally-black lady partner. *beam*
9.9 Funny, but after all those mixed het couples, I was actually surprised that her partner wasn't some other race. ^^;; Guess I'm finally getting used to Oregon.
