tygati: (Lurkey "Shh I'm Hiding")
I think I did something really stupid. I came home last night to a message from a Gaia admin saying that my account had been reported and to send them my information for investigation. Being the paranoid person I am, I natually investigated the sender of the message as best I was able, and it looked legit. So I complied.

Now, my username has been changed, along with my password, and the system says it can't find my email on file to send me my info again.

I feel exceptionally stupid, because normally I have no problem seeing through scam messages. But I'm unfamiliar with the Gaia administrative structure and procedures, and to the best of my limited knowledge it looked to be on the up and up. :(

I've sent an email to Gaia's staff with an inquiry, but I'm not getting my hopes up. If it does turn out that I'll never regain access to my account, I won't be making another one. My apologies to everyone who felt more comfortable talking on there, and especially to the people who gave me pretty things. I feel awful.

I'd been in such a good mood until then too. So much for writing this weekend.
