(no subject)

Mmm, egg flower soup for lunch.

Mom & Rick are off for the frozen north (literally. Tues's low is supposed to be -6) and I'm manning the house with the dog and cat. It's interesting. I have to remember to put wood in the fireplace every 1-2 hours, and every day I get to take the big orange wheelbarrow up to the shed and fetch more. o.o;

They should be back Sunday, meaning I'll be back in Eugene on Monday barring any MORE unforseen circumstances... ^^; It's driving me nuts. I only packed for a three day trip, not for over a week. M keeps encouraging me to do sequels to my stories and of COURSE I only brought my notes for the unfinished stuff... x.x I remember only the very vague gist of what I had planned for King Aiden... *sigh* Stupid notes.

Scary!

Okay, so, we all know my Mom's place is in the middle of nowhere, right?

I stepped outside to grab more wood for the fireplace and there was this odd sound up the hill where the driveway starts. I look up and there's this OMFGHUGESHAPE up there. I freak, run back inside. Peer out window, yup, shape is still there. Call mom, ask about location of spotlight. Get spotlight, creep back outside, shine spotlight up hill.

God damn, Elk are big. x.x Since it had no antlers, I am assuming female. Mommy warned me there were deer. She did NOT REMEMBER TO MENTION elk. :P Blah. Huge animal in middle of night. Did not get picture, as elk-lady wasn't too fond of me shining a high-powered spotlight in her eyes. ^^;; Maybe if she comes back... now that my heart has quit racing from the 'single female alone in remote house standing outdoors in the dark' syndrome. x.x;;
