This is so useful! I am working my way through the different storylines (but not in any paticular order). I'm trying to leave comments and be good. But sometimes I am guilty of chain-reading too. And I am frequently guilty of fluff-for-brains. I sit here with a stupid, fluffy smile going "Aaaahhhh! Sweet!" and can't think of any coherrent words to use in a comment. I try not to leave incoherrent comments - they can be so difficult to interpret! :)
I'll apologise for my bad LJ manners in not asking if you minded being friended. I've had an account for quite a long time but rarely venture out into the wide LJ-world because I usually get lost! My friends try to tempt me out of my hidey-hole with links to interesting things but this is really the first time I have done more than lurk and scuttle away. I just can't resist your characters!
I particularly love the Ice Princess because it reminded me of the first novel I tried to write. The whole Kidnapped universe is brilliant and my novel sucked. But there were a few points of similarity - a customised star ship, a new captain trying to fit in and take charge, a rather ecentric Executive Officer who was used to running the entire ship... there is a slight similarity in the basic ideas, certainly enough to fire my nostalgia. My head is full of plot bunnies now, I hope you don't mind me stealing your format a little bit. The long story with spin off ficlets and drabbles and more long stories is a brilliant idea. I have written a fair ammount of fanfics and really want to get back to original stuff but rarely get this inspired by my own characters (they all seem quite happy to live in my head). But now I have the basis of my own universe coalescing in my head and a good handful of characters to play with. If it turns out too similar to the Kidnapped-verse I can bury it with all my other unfinished projects! I am hoping I can come up with something that is the same genre without being a clone. But 3000 words isn't really enough to be able to tell yet. But I am having fun with it when I can drag myself away from your writing!
Sigh. I'm drivelling again. It must be past my bedtime... Sorry for the TMI attack!
