Although I'm fairly sure that under normal circumstances he would not have gotten away with beating his commanding officer to a pulp. I guess being Kavalerov's pet means he gets out of just about anything.

Oh, rest assured, if Sigma hadn't put him in the hospital, Kavalerov would have found some equally nasty punishment for the man. He's just as protective of Tau Ceti as Tau is of him. ^^;
